The 2009 Civic Hybrid is available in 4 trims, which range from the standart CVT AT-PZEV, CVT AT-PZEV with Leather, CVT AT-PZEV with Navigation System and CVT AT-PZEV with Leather & Navigation System.

Honda's revolutionary hybrid cars are extremely fuel economic since each of this 4 different trims models have been tested to offer a mileage benefits of 40 mpg (64 km) in the cities and a mileage of 45 mpg (72 km) on the national highways. Each trim differs from one another in: number of cylinders that are used in the engine, traction control and ABS.

Engine and Performance

The 2009 Civic Hybrid comes with Honda's hybrid technology Integrated Motor Assist System that includes a 1.3-liter 8-valve SOHC i-VTEC Inline four-cylinder gasoline engine. The engine is mated to a lightweight, high-output 15 kilowatt electric motor to generate a combined 110 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque. A standard continuously variable transmission is smooth. The Civic Hybrid qualifies as an Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle. An idle-stop automatically shuts off the gasoline engine when the car is stopped. This helps in keeping the air clean.
