High Gear Media Top 10 Cars to Buy in 2012

April 23rd, 2012 | Cars | best cars

According to High Gear Media the best car to buy in 2012 is the new Ford Focus. Its rivals are the Hyundai Veloster, Range Rover Evoque, Chevy Sonic, Mercedes M-Class, Porsche 911, Acura TL, Volkswagen Up!, Jeep Wrangler and 2012 Toyota Prius. The Ford Focus grabs one's attention both for the way it handles and for the way it looks. It has excellent performance. It feels alive with a sporty ride and sweet steering.

The Ford Focus is compact and the back seat is a bit snug in comparison with the other vehicles of its class, but it has class-leading safety and great front seats. Moreover it is a real state of the art when it comes to entertainment features and luxury.

The 2012 Porsche 911 is also one of the best cars to buy. High Gear Media has announced the Volkswagen Up! to be the Best Car of the Year. By the way, most nominees of its Award were hatchbacks and 20 of 25 nominees had 4-cylinder engines.

As for the Hyundai Veloster, this hatchback has a dual-clutch transmission, a four-cylinder engine and Blue Link. It should be said the Hyundai Veloster is a rather new direction for Hyundai. 2012 Acura TL is a near-luxury sedan adopting a cleaner front in comparison with the previous version and has updated in-car technology. It boasts an advanced all-wheel-drive system and luxurious interior.

The more time you will spend in the Chevy Sonic, the next car in our list, the more you will like its energetic styling and gutsy performance! A great small-car ride and sharp steering make it a serious rival to the Ford Fiesta. The Porsche 911 S Coupe has become the World Performance Car of the Year. The new Porsche delivers impressive driving dynamics and it is more fuel efficient than the previous models.

The Range Rover Evoque was developed using the Range Stormer Concept, but the new version is sportier and distinctive than the Stormer. It has higher shoulder line and the lower roof.  As Masatsugu Arimoto said it was one of the best examples of 'less is more' design norm. It is small wonder that it won in the category the 2012 World Car Design of the Year.
