2012 Audi TT Overview

The Audi TT has long been a car that those who love automobiles have coveted and the 2012 Audi TT is no exception to that. There has long been a discussion amongst car enthusiasts as to whether the Audi TT is a real sports car or whether it is simply a 'sporty car' and the refinements made in 2011 - which were quite extensive - actually did very little to clear that issue up.

The Audi TT (which has remained fairly unchanged in 2012) has all the power and handling of a sports car but is then surprisingly fuel efficient. Its exterior looks like a luxury coupe but then the steering wheel has the same flappy paddles on the sports steering wheel that you would find on a Ferrari. It also has great safety features and innovative extras like xenon plus headlights with energy saving LED daytime running headlamps.

In terms of actual specs (always important to car fans) the 2012 Audi TT has 211-hp, 2.0-liter I-4 engine and can get 23 city driving miles to the gallon and 31 highway driving miles. Its transmission is a 6-speed auto-shift manual with overdrive and auto-manual.

If you are willing to opt for the Premium Plus Audi TT package, which starts at $38,300, you will get all kinds of amazing extras including a retractable rear spoiler, designer leather seats, bluetooth mobile capacity and 18” wheels. If you want even more you can opt for the $44,400 Prestige package which features everything just described as well as a BOSE premium audio system, heated leather front seats that also feature ergonomic styling for more comfortable driving.

There is also an interior LCD lighting system, another rather eco friendly feature and a Homelink remote transmitter that can be used to open your garage door and switch on your home’s exterior lighting without ever leaving your car!
