The 2013 Maserati Quattroporte S is a well anticipated edition to this upcoming year’s line of vehicles and has been spotted being tested, most specifically on an ice track in Sweden. This model has been awaited for quite some time and many have spotted the new edition being tested. The model is a four-door sedan but much of the new body work has been hindered from sight until it’s unveiling. However, there is much anticipation as to the work and changes that have been expected.

The Italian automaker had already made statements regarding its intention to update the new year’s lineup, specifically having to do with the Quattroporte which was originally expected for 2014. There are several assumptions being made about the new Quattroporte and Maserati in general. Many believe that the Italian automaker is developing a new rear-wheel drive platform which will make implementing a hybrid system even easier.

An all-wheel-drive mechanism is also being considered, specifically the one that is currently used in the Ferrari FF.  Similar to this Ferrari FF, the new Quattroporte is still expected to keep its powerful V8 engine. However, it is also expected to be much lighter than its predecessor, despite the same size engine.

The new model of the Maserati four-door will be unveiled in the latter half of this year and will most likely be unveiled in Paris in October. While it is expected that the name will remain Quattroporte, Maserati may very well come up with yet another moniker.

Much of the only criticisms for the Quattroporte have been its body work and design and with the new model in 2013, many are stating that it’s believed that the Italian automaker has made several distinct changes to this body work. While maintaining functionality and power, the new 2013 Maserati Quattroporte S is heavily anticipated for the upcoming auto year.
